In 1933, two employees, Wilhelm Bächle and Oskar Salzgeber, took over the Roth plumbing business. The location at that time was 61 Steinberggasse in the old town of Winterthur.

During the summer, the primary activity was construction plumbing, while in the winter months, workshop plumbing took center stage.

Additionally, sanitary work was also part of our services. The workshop produced hay blowers for a prominent agricultural company in Winterthur. Later, ventilation elements were added for an industrial company in the same city.

Im Jahr 1994 wurde die Arbeit in der Altstadt von Winterthur unmöglich. Die Einschränkungen im Rahmen der autofreien Altstadt waren drastisch, ein Domizilwechsel unumgänglich.

In 1961, the partnership of Bächle and Salzgeber transformed into the sole proprietorship of Oskar Salzgeber. To diversify, the existing household store was converted into a plumbing shop.

As part of a reorientation, Oskar Salzgeber’s sole proprietorship ceased its operations in 1981, giving rise to Salzgeber AG.

In 1994, work in the old town of Winterthur became unfeasible due to strict restrictions in the car-free old town. Relocating was the only viable option.

Today, the headquarters of Salzgeber AG is situated in the industrial area of Winterthur-Grüze. The new facilities allowed for the use of more modern, computer-controlled sheet metal processing machines, facilitating a broader range of work.

In March 2019, we expanded by adding a new hall, providing more space for materials and machines.

Starting in mid-October 2019, we were ready to tackle new challenges.

In mid-February 2022, we embraced greater ecological practices by installing solar panels on our roof.
